Top Scope for the 308 Rifle

The Vortex Viper offers a 6-24x50 Waterproof Rifle Scope that can suit all your hunting needs. Whether you are going on a hunting trip in the Rockies or you are in a tree stand in Missouri with its 30mm machined aluminum tube Fog Proof Rifle Scope, it can do more than get the job done. I especially like that the Vortex utilizes fiber optics so that the view through the scope is as crisp as seeing it on a brand new television. Prices range from $500 to around $850 making it a low to medium priced scope for the type of quality that it provides. With the combination of the two best scopes that Vortex offers (the HT and PST) this scope offers it all for both hunters and tactical operations.

Best use for the Viper Vortex HS-T 6-24x50 with my 308 Rifle:

The 308 Rifle can hit from 1000 meters away with an experienced eye. The Viper Vortex will allow that image sitting 3280 feet away to be a crystal clear view with the fiber optic lens and a magnification range from 6-24x. I would say for the average shooter 400 to 600 yards is just about the right distance. The 30mm tube gives you a sturdy base which will not break very easily. I would use the Viper Vortex in situations where I do not want to be anywhere near the animal such as Bears, Lions, or any other big game hunting that could potentially be dangerous. The more distance between the animal and I (while it s alive) the better.

Customer Reviews:

4.8 out of 5.0 Stars

Customers reported that the exposed turrets have great visibility and that the zero reset with the clear glass makes it quick and clear for use. One of the features I happen to appreciate the best is the offered lifetime warranty, if you don t like it go ahead and return it but if you do like it, its guaranteed for life. Many customers are praising the quality of the scope for the price. With a combination of great features and an affordable price with a lifetime warranty to boot, the Viper Vortex seems to be just right for my 308 Rifle.

Video Review:

Pros:

With the magnification range from 6-24x this can make the 1000 meters that a 308 Rifle can reach up to seem a lot closer than with another scope. Vortex has also been called by some to be a, Force in Optics . Vortex offers not just scopes but lens and binoculars as well. Zero reset, clear image, lightweight, sturdy frame, a sleek look and made by one of the innovators in fiber optic lens. There are many reasons why the Viper Vortex is one of the best especially for my 308 Rifle. Two options with the MOA and MRAD reticle as well as two power options with the 4-16x44 for hunting distances and 6-24x50 for those looking to shoot past 1000 yards. With the VIP warranty there is no need for a receipt to verify, no card to fill out and its fully transferable.

Cons:

It was extremely difficult to find bad things said about the Viper Vortex HS-T 6-24x50 but a customer commented on the scope that the MOA was useless because of the reticle being an SFP and not an FFP. On Amazon.com this was the only complaint about the scope itself. Although this product has very few bad reviews, I could only find one and that was on Amazon.

Conclusion:

With prices ranging from $150 to $1600 scopes can be both inexpensive and high dollar. The Viper Vortex has the features of an expensive scope with the price of an inexpensive one. I would choose the Viper Vortex for my 308 Rifle because of the windage adjustment range and height adjustment range accompanied by the 30mm size and the fiber optic lens. Make sure you do your homework before purchasing the Viper Vortex HS-T 6-24x50 to are sure it is right for you.
