Best Belly Band Holster for Female

Ever wonder the best belly band holster for female? When I’m looking for a holster to conceal a weapon, there are a few major points that I look for. Firstly, I need to hide the gun under tight fitting clothes and it needs to sit right so my breasts and hips don’t push it out. Equally, in terms of safety, I’m looking for a holster that keeps my gun secure while still being easily accessible, without me being able to reach the trigger instantly because this is a real safety hazard. I also have a couple of guns so I need a band that I can wear different weapons in and I’m also quite active so I like to be able to move around easily in it. Although I have found it a little bit of a challenge when trying to shop for the superb belly band holster for female gun carriers, I ended up choosing this Carry as I think this is the most versatile choice for petite ladies.

My Recommendation

Concealment

This holster makes both my guns practically unnoticeable. It’s adjustable so I can wear it on my waist or hips and either way it is hard to notice you have it on. I wear it with yoga pants and tuck it into the waistline and you barely notice it’s there. It comes in left or right-handed, and I like how the gun sits on the side, in the groove of my hip so it’s hidden by my body.

Safety and Accessibility

The holster has a nice tight fit, hugging into my body so I can feel the gun is held securely without digging into my skin. I really like the safety clip on the retention strap instead of Velcro. It feels more durable and less likely that the weight of my gun will tear it open. While I like the safety of the clip, it does make it a little harder to get the gun out at speed. The manufacturer notes that it is quieter and therefore stealthier than Velcro, but if you are looking for speed, you may want to try a model with either Velcro or nothing at all. But I like the positioning as it is easy to draw from the hip without it getting caught on my clothes.

Comfort and Aesthetics

This band is extremely comfortable. It’s made of neoprene and surgical grade elastic so while it holds tightly, I can move around easily without it showing. Sometimes the adjustable Velcro that secures it is a little scratchy so while I tuck it into my pants, I keep it over my underwear. Aesthetically, it does give me a muffin top when I wear it on my hips!

Versatility

I own a Smith together with Wesson Bodyguard and a Glock 17 and both guns fit in the holster securely. I think it would be fine for most handguns of this size.

The Bottom Line

I like that this holster has durable safety features and is versatile, both in terms of switching out guns and in relation to how I can wear it. My gun is easily accessible while it is concealed very well. I would prefer a Velcro-tabbed retention strap but I appreciate that the clip is safer. In my experience, this is the best all-around holster for women.

Top 3 Best Belly Band Holster for Female

 1.  Hip Hugger Classic

Rating: 4.5 / 5.0

Concealment

This band is designed to be worn on the hips and while the gun is concealed well in the appendix position, buried in the pelvic crevice, it shows a little when in the back position unless you wear a heavy shirt over the top.

Safety and Accessibility

In terms of safety, there is no retention strap to hold the gun in place, and while this makes your gun more easily accessible, the elastic is so tight that it squeezes my Glock 17 out. My S&W stays in fine so I feel like it is better suited to smaller guns. I am quite petite and feel that women with larger tummies may not have this issue. The back holster is much tighter and holds the gun far more securely. I like all the pockets, giving 4 spaces to hold a gun and 2 smaller spaces for extra accessories.

Comfort and Aesthetics

The manufacturer boasts that the band has two rows of Hypoallergenic Non-Slip Tacti-Grip to hold in in place so I felt that this would be some of very good belly band holsters for female gun carriers who are quite active in their lives. However, while it does hold tight, if your skin gets clammy, the grips don’t work and the band stretches up. It stays in place better when it is over fabric like it is shown in the picture. This band is better suited to colder environments wearing it makes you quite hot due to the stiff material. I liked the hook and eyes for adjusting as they gave it a feminine feel.

Versatility

This band is far suited to smaller guns, but the 4 holster positions (2 appendix, 2 kidney) mean that you can carry multiple weapons.

The Bottom Line

This is a good hip holster for versatile concealment of small weapons. It is more suited to less active women than me as it rides a little and can be a bit hot to wear.

 2.  Hidden Heat Lace II

Rating: 3.8 / 5.0

Concealment

What I like about this model is that the lacy look means that if you bend over and it shows, it just looks like lacy panties, adding extra concealment. The gun fits in the center which conceals it in the bow of your pelvis very well. However, this holster is most definitely designed to fit smaller model guns as I found that my S&W stuck out the top, so a little of the slide was touching my skin. Not only are sweat and oils are bad for the gun, it could be seen pushing through my top, even when I wore something loose.

Safety and Accessibility

The Velcro retention strap holds very well keeping the gun securely in place, although it fixes low down, so while the Velcro is strong, this means I couldn’t just pull the retention strap to unhook it, I had to fish down the front of my pants, slowing down accessibility. Although I prefer side holsters, the center position makes it easy to whip the gun out and it is ambidextrous.

Comfort and Aesthetics

I like the lace because it is feminine and cute. It is extremely comfortable, especially when sitting down as the pocket is angled so the gun sits along your pant leg. It’s great for running as it is lightweight and breathable and while tight enough to hold the gun securely, it gives good stretch for movement.

Versatility

This holster is far better suited to smaller guns and the gun can only be held in one position. But there are extra pockets for a magazine and your cell phone.

The Bottom Line

A simple, feminine design, Hidden Heat Lace II is a good option for active women with small guns. The retention strap makes it a little less accessible but the center pouch makes it good for both right and left-handed users.

 3.  Blue Stone Safety Women’s Original Belly Band Holster

Rating: 3.9 / 5.0

Concealment

I can wear this model under legging easily with a light blouse or a slim-fit tunic and it is easily hidden. However, the woven elastic is stiff so it doesn’t mold to the curve of your waist so I needed a smaller size than I thought because it was bowing outward. It imprints less if you wear it back to front but that makes it harder to access.

Safety and Accessibility

The retention strap is made from strong woven fabric with a Velcro tab which I found easy to slip my thumb under to release it while it holds it sturdy in the holster. It tucks nicely to the side of your body and is angled, making it easy to reach. The Purple Thread makes it extremely durable, preventing wear and tear and holding the gun tightly and securely.

Comfort and Aesthetics

This holster is quite heavy and placing of the magazine pocket means that it digs into you when you bend down, and the Velcro digs into my skin a little and the stiff material is difficult to move in, making it uncomfortable when I’m running. While it is very basic looking, the adjustability means I can wear it in different places depending on my clothes.

Versatility

It worked well with both my guns, holding them securely in place. The website also says it works with most handguns, but not anything too large. There’s a storage pocket for a cell phone too, which is handy when I’m jogging.

The Bottom Line

This model conceals well and provides safety, security, and good accessibility. This is not really designed for women who are very active as it isn't the most comfortable.

Conclusion

I chose Belly Band Holster to assist me on the Concealed Carry because I prefer placing of the gun, and while it stretches comfortably for when I’m active, it still holds my weapons tightly. If I was to choose my second option, it would be the Blue Stone Safety Women’s Original Belly Band Holster because it conceals well, while I prefer the Velcro retention strap for easy access.
