This one caught my eye at first because of its sleek dark blue, well bone handle, with a relatively simple design that just shouts business. How good is this knife performance wise? It’s could hold up efficiently skinning and gutting hogs in general. The longer, lean blade helps in the dismantling as well. That aside, the product feels solid on your hand as you work around the carcass. Although, you might want to wear a glove for better grip, that if you trust yourself that your hand won’t slip. For under $10, this knife is basically a steal. If anything it looks adorable. Small in size, it leans more towards utility since the blade is flat ended. The lite version feels compact and does the job as the standard sized, but made with convenience in mind. Which is to say the blade holds really secure for any activities. The handle comes with a clip and what they claim to be deep finger grooves. The small size can be either a boon or bust, my little finger can only barely grip the handle. Also, the clip, do only use as a money clip like they advertise, I won’t bet on its sturdiness. But if you are using it mainly for cutting fishing lines or opening boxes, it shouldn’t be that much of a problem. The blades are replaceable once they got dull and Gerber does sell those by the box. The folding knife is held with liner lock when closed. Would still recommend this if you are looking for a small knife.

I’m never really a fan of folding knives shaped like a key. Feels too gimmicky and too small for my needs. Then again, I do see the benefits of having your essentially defensive tool hidden as every day seeming objects. You can simply hang it along with the rest of your keys. The blade is only 1.5-Inch-long, made with stainless steel so the durability is there. The black finish looks decent, to say the least, but it scratches off when I tested it on an aluminum can. The blade does cut the metal can easily, but I would recommend only using it on paper and wire cutting since the blade is not exactly the sturdiest. Locks tightly in both open and closed position, so there’s no danger of it opening up in your pockets or closing back when using it. The one thing that bugs me the most? The fact that the blade isn’t completely hidden in the key. For a $10 dollar folding knife, it’s a great value for the quality. Security feature wise, it has a lock back method.

There’s nothing more to say from that honestly. The matte gray finish is aesthetically pleasing, the case designed for real life EMT and firefighting emergencies in mind. It’s a little on the heavier side at 4 oz. but to me, it adds to the overall sturdy feeling that pricier folding knife usually has. If I were to nitpick about the one thing I dislike, the flipper function on the blade might be a cause for worry. A strong enough nudge might swing the knife open and cause unwarranted accidents. Do keep them away from your pants pockets. The blades are securely held with frame lock and lock bar stabilizer, with Kershaw’s SpeedSafe technology, which helps to open and close the blade easier.

Tested for durability and quality, made using the finest materials etc. That said, for a knife, you can get around $60, this is probably the best bet for lightweights folding knives. From one of the leading innovative cutlery manufacturer, the folding knife is wieldy and comfortable on the hand. The main selling feature comes from the one-handed closing and opening, although I never find the need to ever use it for whatever purpose they are pushing with that. Okay, there is convenience, also nothing like swinging this open with one hand to cut open your boxes, then another swift swing to get it closed. The leaf blade holds ups nicely, although I would prefer longer blades for dismantling carcasses. For everything else, it does the job well with the slip-free grip. Main complaints? The mirror-like finish causes the blade to scratch easily. Lock Back method is used to secure the blade in place.
