Overall look and feel:

This is your top of the range semi-automatic CO2 pistol. It’s nickel finish gives the impression that this is a real pistol. If you think that almost $100 is too much for the price, then think again. Many pistols in this range price far higher and their performance is simply inches better. For the power and the speed this pistol is a steal.

Pro’s and Cons:

Even though the pistol sports a nickel finish, the handle is plastic. So is the magazine. It really is a little bit of a downer when seeing this but when we tested the Winchester 11K we found that the power that this piece is a perfect companion to take to the range. It comes in a sponged inner casing and along with 750 BB’s you just cannot help but go and test drive your new pistol. Beware though, the sight is non adjustable. Apparently some reviewers found that there were issues with the accuracy but we have not experienced this as yet.

Overall look and feel:

Nicknamed the ratcatcher’, this pistol is a .22 calibre, with a shooting speed of up to 460 fps. The bolt action works like a dream and reloading is simple enough. The power is incredible and so is the sound that reverberates like a real firearm. We found that it had one of the most impressive triggers in its league, however we realigned the barrel band and found its accuracy to be dead on at a distance of 20ft and kept its accuracy at a distance of 75ft.

Pro’s and Cons:

The pistol does not come with a tin of pellets but for the price and the power we didn’t mind purchasing a tin of .22’s. Try to oil your pistol each time you reload your CO2 cartridge and you will keep your Crossman in good condition. Now for the part that made us even happier. The gun can be customized with ease. There are hundreds of home made videos on YouTube to teach you and guide you toward customizing your Crossman. With this pistol, there is no end to the alterations that you can make. A great customization kit to purchase is the steel breech, adding rails so that you can mount optics.

Overall look and feel:

We believe that all firearms and air pistols need adult supervision, even for 16 year olds, this pistol tops the list of dangerous pieces. The pistol has a powerful shot, having dead accuracy at 15yds with a 500 fps blow. The power on this pistol, the weight and the appearance all resemble a real firearm.

Pro’s and Cons:

Do not take your pistol into public, as the CO2 cylinders are hidden extremely well, it’s near to impossible to tell that this is not a real firearm. Unfortunately, the entire pistol is made of plastic and even though we did not experience breakages, there have been a few reviews of people who accidently broke off parts of the pistol. Full refunds and replacements have been offered, so you have nothing to worry about if you find yourself in the same boat.

 4.  Crosman CCP8B2 Vigilante Revolver

Overall look and feel:

With the plastic feel you cannot believe that it looks so true to its real firearm cousin. The weight is much lighter than the real revolver but it’s still packed with unbelievable power.

Pro’s and Cons:

It’s a disappointment that the Vigilante does not come with CO2 or even a tin of BB’s but if you are going to purchase them, make sure you invest in Crosman copperheads. The vigilante has incredible accuracy straight out of the box and at 45ft it almost held true to its 435 fps. We got a solid 50 shots out of our first cylinder and are immensely impressed.

 5.  Umarex Colt Commander .177 Air Gun

Overall look and feel:

We have left the favourite for last. It looks and feels like a real colt. It’s perfect replication had us in awe. The grip is plastic but as gun enthusiasts do, they modify and replace the parts of their favourite pieces. This one is worth modifying, but definitely does not need it.

Pro’s and Cons:

It’s accuracy is frightening and the drop of the magazine feels so real until you see the CO2, but it’s so well hidden that you would never guess that it was there. When comparing to real firearms like the .45, the resemblance is uncanny. It’s an above excellent training and long range air pistol that makes you feel as though you firing a real one. The only downer that may not be as disappointing to you was the insane speed at which this pistol consumes CO2.
